Greetings, gentlemen.
This week I’ve been wearing Stronger With You by Emporio Armani — a fragrance you’ve almost certainly seen everywhere. It’s practically staring you down from every shop shelf, Instagram ad, or airport duty-free stand like an over-eager salesman. And honestly? I’d grown a bit sick of the sight of it.
But, in the spirit of fairness (and because hype is impossible to ignore in this game), I finally gave it a proper run to see what all the fuss is about. I suspected this might be another case of the usual brand-driven buzz with little substance… but let’s not judge too early.
Background
Stronger With You launched back in 2017, which genuinely surprised me — I could’ve sworn this thing was a much more recent arrival. It’s officially classified as an aromatic fougère, though I’d argue amber-fougère gives a much better indication of what to expect.
It will also come as no surprise that a successful designer release like this has already spawned a full family of flankers, including:
- Stronger With You Intensely
- Stronger With You Absolutely
- Stronger With You Leather
- Stronger With You Amber
- Stronger With You Freeze
- Stronger With You Oud
Do they milk the line? Absolutely — these days, milking flankers is basically an Olympic sport. But to be fair: I enjoyed the original far more than I expected, and Armani rarely puts out a truly bad fragrance.
I’ve sampled a few of the flankers and to me, none offer much improvement over the original. Freeze especially felt like a step backward.
Side note: I still don’t get the name. Stronger With You. Sounds like the title of a 2007 romantic drama you’d pretend you never saw.
Appearance & Presentation
The bottle is small, compact, simple, with a warm, ambient look that matches the cosy scent inside. It’s clean, understated — nothing too flashy.
It doesn’t exactly scream “masculine.” On first glance, you could easily mistake it for a women’s fragrance. The marketing campaign doesn’t help — more romantic couple shots, soft light, slow-motion moments — like a perfume ad crossed with a low-budget rom-com. It leans more unisex and sentimental than anything rugged.
Pricing
For a designer fragrance from a house like Armani, the price is fair and reasonable. You don’t feel ripped off — it lands squarely in the “I’ll pay that” zone. Solid brand, solid scent, solid value.
Worth the dosh?
Yes — especially when compared to some of the overpriced, mediocre rubbish flooding shelves lately. Stronger With You gives you exactly what you’re paying for: a dependable, pleasant fragrance that knows what it is and doesn’t try too hard.
When it comes to getting the best deal, your best bet is almost always the discounters — especially when they’re running coupon codes. And the one that’s never let me down is FragranceX.
They ship worldwide, they only deal in authentic stock, and they’ve got a solid 30-day return policy, which keeps things risk-free.
Prices do move around (sometimes daily, especially during holiday sales), so it’s always worth checking the current deal. 👇

The Notes
According to Fragrantica, the original EDT (2017) version of Stronger With You features:
- Top notes: Chestnut, Sugar
- Middle notes: Sage, Lavender
- Base notes: Vanilla, Smoke
The Scent
So what do we actually get?
I can absolutely see why this is a bestseller — even if it leans a little safe. It delivers that classic winter / holiday-season vibe: warm, sweet, cozy, and very easy to wear. The kind of fragrance that pairs with chilly evenings, moody lighting, and a wool jumper.
- Opening: You get a nutty-sweet hit — chestnut and sugar leading the charge, giving a slightly gourmand, comforting opening.
- Mid: Sage and lavender add a faint herbal, aromatic undercurrent — subtle, but enough to give the scent a bit of depth beyond “just sweet.”
- Dry down: Vanilla and a soft smoky base round things out, giving that signature warm, slightly musky — not heavy — finish.
If you’re hunting for something bold, unique or aggressively masculine, this isn’t it. It’s very much made to be easy to like, polished, and largely unchallenging.
But as a pleasant, cosy winter scent? It absolutely works. It gives off that “winter coat and knitted jumper” vibe — snug, inviting, and inoffensive.
🔥NEW FRAGRANCE!

OLD SCHOOL — Eau de Toilette
Classic masculinity. Zero nonsense.
A clean, barbershop-inspired fragrance from the days when men walked out of the bathroom smelling like aftershave — not “Ocean Breeze Watermelon Mist.”
Built to showcase Vetiver at its best, Old School opens with bright blended citrus, moves into subtle spice, and settles into a warm mix of woods and earthy confidence.
A sharp, masculine, timeless scent that never goes out of style.
Price: £45
Performance
I’ve heard others rave about the longevity and projection — “phenomenal,” “room-filling,” all that. On my skin, however? Not so much. (Yes, skin chemistry plays a big part.)
Even after a week and a half of heavy wear (to avoid nose-blindness accusations), the performance remained average:
- Longevity: 3–4 hours
- Projection: about an arm’s length for roughly 1.5 hours
Acceptable for an EDT, but certainly nothing to shout home about. In short: serviceable. Functional. Not spectacular.
When & Where to Wear It
This fragrance really shows its face when the weather turns cold — autumn and winter are prime. However, it has more flexibility than you might expect:
- Ideal for nights out, date nights, cozy winter evenings.
- Casual daytime wear in cooler weather? Works fine.
- Running errands or low-key meetups? No problem.
- Even the office — I tested it. No complaints, no headaches, no HR emails.
In short: it’s primarily a winter/autumn scent, but if the temperature’s low enough, it can handle cool spring days or mild daytime use too.

Compliment Factor
You’ll get compliments — that much is nearly guaranteed. It’s designed to be easy on the nose, safe for most people, and broadly appealing. In that regard: mission accomplished.
The catch? Scents this “designed to please” often end up being forgettable. You’ll get a polite “Nice collogne” or “You smell good” comment… but don’t expect “What are you wearing?!” or “Damn — that’s incredible.” It lacks the wow factor.
Think of it as a utility fragrance: reliable, versatile, and low-risk — but not the scent that defines you.
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Warm, cosy, and broadly appealing
- Great as a winter-season scent
- Easy to wear and easy to like
- Reasonably priced for a designer fragrance
- Versatile enough for casual daywear, evenings, and even office
Cons
- Pretty generic — not distinctive or unique
- Performance is only average
- Packaging/marketing leans unisex — not particularly masculine
- It’s more “nice and safe” than “memorable or bold.”
Final Verdict
So — yes, I’d recommend Stronger With You. But with caveats.
If you’re building a small rotation of 4–5 good, reliable scents — one for daytime, one for evenings, one for work, one for weekends, and one for the colder months — this fits perfectly into the winter slot. It’s warm, comfy, mass-appealing, and versatile enough to pull off during day or night (as long as temps stay cool). It does its job — and it does it well.
But if what you’re after is character, edge, or individuality, you might want to look elsewhere. For a bolder, more rugged, or more sexy vibe, I’d point you toward some of my other go-tos: Azzaro The Most Wanted or Tom Ford Oud Wood — scents that gamble a bit more, but arguably pay off.
