Gentleman, recently, I have been testing out some of the more contemporary fragrances, some of which are relatively new to the scene. These are not my usual go-to fragrances, but I am an open-minded man willing to try new things, so today, I will be talking about Boss Bottled Night by Hugo Boss.

Hugo Boss – Boss Bottled Night introduces a straightforward fragrance, as the notes show. The opening is heavy on the lavender, giving it a fresh appeal. This is, however, ultimately a woody fragrance through and through; there is no question about that.

It has a darkness about it with a masculine character, although I would have expected more of a spicy fragrance, considering it is marketed as a night scent.

The violet is also a key ingredient here, giving it an aromatic feel and somewhat of a powdery base. I like how this blends in with the woods; they have done a decent job here.

General thoughts about Boss Bottled Night Eau De Toilette

Hugo Boss – Boss Bottled Night Eau De Toilette is a general crowd-pleaser, It’s tough not like this stuff, and you will indeed receive compliments. It’s decent quality and will satisfy you, although it’s nothing groundbreaking and is somewhat generic in parts. It lacks a unique composition but still has a compelling presence nonetheless.

If you are a casual fragrance wearer with a rotation of around 2-3 different fragrances, you won’t go wrong with this, and it’s a solid buy (possibly even a blind buy).

Hugo Boss – Boss Bottled Night Eau De Toilette is a fragrance that would go well with formal wear, such as a dark suit, tie, or tuxedo. It’s inoffensive and has an air of sophistication which the people around you will appreciate.

Performance

The performance of Hugo Boss – Bottled Night Eau De Toilette is alright, with medium scent longevity and sillage. It’s a fragrance to be discovered and not announced, as most of the best ones are. It clings to the skin for most of the day and not in an annoying way that will have you sick of it by the time you get home from work. When you think it’s done, it will creep up on you and hit you with a pleasant waft of subtle, understated sexiness that those around you will also pick up.

I sprayed some on me at around 0600 this morning, and my wife could still smell it when I came home at around 1830; not bad at all.

Application

3-4 sprays should do the trick; although this is an inoffensive fragrance, you can afford to go a little extra with the sprays without causing too much of a disturbance.

When to wear

Generally speaking, Hugo Boss – Boss Bottled Night Eau De Toilette is an all-rounder. It would perform better in lighter, cooler spring, autumn and winter climates. Although primarily a woody fragrance, the lavender and violet notes give it a subtle crisp freshness that is perfect for this weather.

Where to wear

Again, an all-rounder. This fragrance is ideal for formal events; as I said before, think suit and tie, and you won’t go wrong.

Furthermore, Hugo Boss – Boss Bottled Night Eau De Toilette would be ideal if you want something to wear to the office. It will add a touch of sharpness to your outfit that won’t go unnoticed.
